Pricing FAQs

Why don’t you list fixed prices for everything?

Every kitchen is different.
Pricing depends on factors like menu size, supplier complexity, and how established your current systems are.

Rather than using one-size-fits-all pricing, we scope work properly and agree a clear, fixed price upfront — so you know exactly what you’re paying and what’s included.

How do I know it will be worth the cost?

Most one-off projects focus on food cost, waste, or supplier spend, where improvements often outweigh the cost of the work.

The aim is always to deliver practical value, not reports or paperwork for its own sake.

If we don’t believe the work will offer meaningful benefit, we’ll be honest about that.

Do you charge by the hour?

No.

All work is:

  • Clearly scoped

  • Fixed price

  • Agreed in advance

This avoids open-ended billing and keeps the focus on outcomes, not time spent.

Is there a minimum spend?

Yes. One-off projects typically start from £500, depending on scope.

This ensures there’s enough time and focus to deliver work that’s genuinely useful, rather than rushed or superficial.

Do I need to commit to ongoing support?

No.

One-off services are exactly that — one-off.
There’s no obligation to continue with monthly support.

If ongoing support would add value after the project is complete, we’ll discuss it — if not, the work ends cleanly.

What if I just want a quick review or second opinion?

That’s fine.

Pre-inspection reviews and operational check-ups are available as standalone services, with a clear scope and fixed price.

These are often used for reassurance before inspections, menu changes, or ownership transitions.

Will this disrupt service or staff?

No.

All systems and changes are designed to work around live service, not interrupt it.
We focus on simple processes staff can follow during busy shifts, not complicated systems that slow things down.

Do you help with compliance and allergens?

Yes.

All allergen and due diligence work aligns with UK food safety requirements set by the Food Standards Agency and local Environmental Health Officers.

The focus is on clear, usable systems, not excessive paperwork.

What happens after I get in touch?

We’ll have a short conversation to understand:

  • Your operation

  • The challenges you’re facing

  • Whether we’re the right fit

If we are, you’ll receive a clear proposal with scope and pricing.
If we’re not, we’ll tell you honestly.

Clear scope, clear pricing, and practical results — no surprises.

Other FAQs

Do you work on-site or remotely?

Support can be delivered remotely, on-site, or as a combination of both, depending on the scope of work and the needs of the business.
On-site visits are arranged where they add real value.

How long does it take to see results?

Many businesses gain improved visibility and control within the first few weeks.
Margin improvements and operational benefits follow as systems are embedded and maintained.

Will this create more paperwork for my team?

No.
The aim is to simplify systems so they work during busy service. In many cases, unnecessary paperwork is reduced rather than increased.

Do you replace my kitchen manager?

No.
Back of House Solutions provides operational oversight and system implementation — not day-to-day staff management.
Our role is to strengthen structure and protect margins, not run shifts.

What size businesses do you typically work with?

We primarily support independent restaurants, pubs with food, cafés, and small groups.
Large corporate chains with established head office systems are usually not the right fit.

Do I need ongoing monthly support?

Not necessarily.
Many businesses start with a one-off project and move to monthly support once systems are in place. Others use one-off services only.
The level of support depends on your needs.

Do you guarantee inspection results?

No consultant can guarantee inspection outcomes.
However, all compliance systems are aligned with guidance from the Food Standards Agency and structured to ensure kitchens are organised, consistent, and inspection-ready.

What happens after a one-off project is complete?

You’ll receive clear systems and documentation designed to work without ongoing oversight.
If additional support is needed later, it can be arranged — but there is no obligation.
